Juventus Coach Max Allegri believes Cristiano Ronaldo is ‘the best player in the world’ and has ‘increased confidence’ at the club.
The boss was at pains to point out their exploits in the Champions League in recent years but ahead of their opening game against Valencia, he believes they can now lift the trophy this season.
“Since Cristiano Ronaldo has arrived we feel an increased confidence, because he is the best player in the world,” Allegri told reporters at his pre-match press conference on Tuesday.
“This is the player who shares the Ballon d’Or awards with Lionel Messi and is the top scorer in the history of the Champions League, it is impossible to put him into words.
“It is also important to remember that Juventus have played in two Champions League finals in the past four years too, we have the foundations to go one step further and win the tournament.
“This signing could prove significant in our ambitions and we believe it will elevate us towards that goal.”
