Villarreal have agreed a deal to sign Huesca midfielder Gonzalo Melero next summer as a free agent, the club have confirmed.
The Yellow Submarine have confirmed the move for the central midfielder, whose contract at the newly-promoted expires next summer with both clubs sanctioning the talks.
The 24-year-old began his career at Real Madrid but only played for the club’s Castilla team, before spending two seasons at Ponferradina between 2014 and 2016.
He then joined Huesca where he was influential in their first ever promotion campaign to the top flight, starting 38 league matches and netting an impressive 16 goals.
Melero has since started all four of the club’s La Liga matches so far.
