Valencia sweat over trio for Juventus

Valencia are sweating over the fitness of Jeison Murillo, Geoffrey Kondogbia and Ezequiel Garay for their Champions League opener against Juventus.

AS reports Murillo pulled up during training on Sunday, feeling discomfort in his hamstring.

The defender had only returned to the bench for Valencia’s 2-2 draw with Levante before the international break, but he will instead undergo tests on Monday to determine his availability.

Joining him for tests will be Kondogbia, who was forced off against Real Betis after his ankle problem resurfaced.

However, the newspaper warns he is ‘practically ruled out’, having missed training on Sunday alongside Garay.

The Argentine stopper would have also ‘not fully recovered’ from a knee injury, which has kept him out for the last three weeks.

Los Che host Juve on Wednesday for what will be their first Champions League match in three years.
