Manchester United will return for Atletico Madrid defender Lucas Hernandez in January after having an offer rejected in summer, say Marca.
The report claims United made an offer of €80m for the France international, which would trigger the release clause of his contract signed only this summer.
However, he is said to be happy in the Spanish capital and hence why United are said to want to return in January with an offer to double his current wage packet.
Lucas has established himself as a left-back at Los Rojiblancos but is equally confident playing in the heart of the defense and has proven instrumental for club and country this year.
United have been linked with a series of La Liga defender including Hernandez’s international teammates Samuel Umtiti and Raphael Varane, but none of these deals appear likely.
