Interim Argentina Coach Lionel Scaloni has not ruled out a return to the fold for Lionel Messi but nothing is set in stone.
The Barcelona star is undergoing a break from international football although it has not yet been clarified if this is permanent or temporary.
“We miss him. But we have to let him be, in peace. He has to enjoy his family, his life. We shall see what happens later,” Scaloni told TyC Sports, as cited by ESPN FC.
“Once we have a project, a name (for a new permanent boss), we will see what Leo thinks.”
Meanwhile, Argentina Football Association president Claudio Tapia added of Messi: “We have to be thankful. He has done a lot for the national team and we have repaid him in the worst possible way.”
