Valencia meet for Guedes move

Valencia held a meeting on Sunday to discuss a new approach for Paris Saint-Germain winger Goncalo Guedes this week, say reports in Spain.

The Portugal international enjoyed a fantastic campaign on loan at the club last season and has repeatedly indicated he would like to move to the Mestalla on a permanent basis.

His agent Jorge Mendes and the club owner Peter Lim were present at Sunday’s 2-0 loss at Espanyol with El Mundo Deportivo saying they held a meeting with sporting director Mateu Alemany.

The transfer window for Spanish and French clubs closes at the end of the month and Marca stated last week that the player is eyeing a role in the Valencia-derby against Levante on 2 September.

Such a deal is likely to cost Valencia upwards of €40m but the French champions have no plans for the player but despite this, may hold out for a €50m deal.
