Sevilla have completed the signing of Roma central midfielder Maxime Gonalons on a season-long loan deal, the club have confirmed.
The deal is a season-long loan arrangement with no option to buy, with the central midfielder essentially replacing Steven N’Zonzi – who joined Roma in a €32m deal last week.
The 29-year-old only joined Roma last summer but made just 23 appearances – with only 12 in Serie A – in his sole campaign with the club.
The French midfielder was signed by Roma for €5m but they were happy to sanction his loan exit without a fee with his wages being covered by the Andalusian club.
