Steven N’Zonzi has hailed the role of sporting director Monchi in his decision to swap Sevilla for Roma in this transfer window.
The France international has struck a four-year contract with the Italian club after a deal thought to be in the region of €27m was agreed between the clubs earlier this week.
“Monchi helped me a lot when I first came to Sevilla,” Nzonzi told a news conference, in quotes carried by AS Roma’s website.
“We were able to enjoy some great moments together, and there were some tougher ones, too. Monchi has great experience. He knows how to win. He has already won plenty.”
N’Zonzi previously spent six years in the Premier League across stints with Blackburn Rovers and Stoke City, before joining Sevilla in 2015.
