Sevilla have confirmed playmaker Joaquin Correa has departed the club to join Lazio, in a deal thought to be worth €20m.
The 23-year-old played just 21 minutes in the Andalusian club’s final four matches of the campaign under the tutelage of interim Coach Joaquin Caparros, who is now the Director of Football.
Reports stated Caparros was then keen to sell the Argentine before Coach Pablo Machin gave the green light to the move as Los Rojiblancos continue to reshape their squad.
The Andalusian club paid €13m to sign Correa from Sampdoria in the summer of 2016 when Jorge Sampaoli was appointed Coach.
Correa netted seven goals and provided seven assists last season at Sevilla, and appeared in a total of 73 matches for the club.
