Striker Loren Moron has extended his contract at Real Betis until 2022 in a deal which will ‘significantly’ raise his release clause.
A report in Onda Cero this weekend stated the Hammers would trigger the previous €25m clause with sporting director Mario Husillos, formerly of Malaga, a big admirer of the Betico youth product.
The 24-year-old only made his debut for Los Verdiblancos in February – scoring twice against Villarreal – and netted seven goals in 12 league starts for the club.
Moron was promoted to the first-team squad after scoring 16 times in 23 appearances for Betis B and his performances in La Liga put rival clubs on alert.
However, Betis have now extended his deal with ABC de Sevilla now claiming his release clause has risen to €40m.
