Getafe have confirmed the signing of Real Valladolid striker Jaime Mata after a season in which he netted 35 goals in La Liga 123.
The 29-year-old had been linked with a move to Los Azulones in recent times with continuing uncertainty over the future of striker Angel Rodriguez.
Mata’s 35 league goals for Valladolid – who earned promotion to Spain’s top flight following a four-year absence – came in just 42 starts this season.
Getafe may partner the forward alongside the experienced Jorge Molina next season in a new-look attack, with Serge Guardiola also arriving from Cordoba.
The striker has a reported €2m release clause at the Blanquivioletas but due to his contract expiring this summer, he has moved on a free transfer.
Mata, formerly of Girona, reportedly rejected the opportunity to join Chinese club Zhejiang Greentown earlier this year.
