Guti in Besiktas talks

Besiktas have confirmed that they are in talks to appoint Real Madrid’s Guti as their assistant Coach.

Guti has been in charge of Madrid’s Juvenil A team for under-19 players since 2013, winning a domestic cup double last season.

However, despite reports that he had agreed a new contract to stay in the role, AS reports the 41-year-old has decided to step down after not being offered a promotion to their Castilla side.

That has prompted the Turkish Press to claim the former Blancos midifleder is headed for Besiktas, where he spent the final season-and-a-half of his playing career between 2011 and 2012.

“Our board is still talking to Guti, but there remains no agreement signed between him and us,” Ahmet Nur Cebi, Vice-President of the Istanbul side, told AS.

The newspaper also cites the supremo as saying Guti would only come in as a No 2 to current boss Senol Gunes.
