Barca: Pjanic doesn’t fit style

Barcelona are not interested in signing Juventus midfielder Miralem Pjanic with club director Ariedo Braida insisted he ‘doesn’t fit’ the transfer strategy.

The Catalan giants are reportedly on the market for new midfielders – having already agreed a deal for Gremio’s Arthur – due to Andres Iniesta’s departure and speculation over the futures of Andre Gomes and Denis Suarez.

“There are no negotiations and I don’t think we’re interested in him,” Braida told JuveNews.eu.

“He’s a good player, but now we have a Brazilian who will take on that role [of ‘regista’] because Barcelona are banking on him.

“There are those who take care of the market for Barcelona, but certainly I know the club’s strategy and Pjanic doesn’t fit into it.”
