Adrian: Betis return makes sense

West Ham United goalkeeper Adrian has admitted he is open to a return to Real Betis this summer, five years after leaving the Seville-based club.

The 31-year-old joined the East London side after spending just one season in the first-team squad at Los Verdiblancos, where he represented the B team for five campaigns.

The Hammers have ended their loan arrangement for Joe Hart while Betis shot-stopper Antonio Adan has been strongly linked with a move to Sporting CP.

“I have to sit down with Pellegrini, but the option of going home is always there,” Estadio Deportivo cite an interview from Deportes Cope Sevilla.

“Of course, I am aware of all the rumours, but the fact remains that Betis still have a goalkeeper and I have to deal with my own future at my club.

“The idea is one that appeals to me because Betis will always be home for me and it is clear to me that if the time comes, we should sit down and talk – it makes sense.

“After spending 16 years at the club I have a strong relationship with many people at Betis, but there is nothing official, no meetings and right now I am on holiday.”
