Juventus have entered the race to sign Valencia wing-back Joao Cancelo who has reportedly rejected the opportunity to join Wolverhampton Wanderers.
Sky Sport Italia reported the Portuguese international would prefer to join a ‘bigger club’ despite the English side’s ability to meet Valencia’s €40m asking price.
Juventus ‘hold a growing interest’ in the 24-year-old, who made 26 appearances on a season-long loan deal at Inter last season.
The Milanese giants subsequently missed the May deadline to activate their €35m right to buy the defender, due to their desire to meet UEFA’s Financial Fair Play regulations.
Valencia would prefer to keep Cancelo but their own financial situation means they must sell before they can replenish their squad, despite qualifying for next season’s Champions League.
