Getafe will attempt to sign in-form Real Valladolid striker Jaime Mata this summer after a season in which he netted 33 goals in La Liga 123.
Marca report the 29-year-old is top of the shopping list for Los Azulones with continuing uncertainty over the future of striker Angel Rodriguez.
Mata’s 33 league goals for Valladolid – who will contest the promotion playoffs for a spot in the top flight – came in just 38 starts this season.
The report indicates Getafe want him to partner the experienced Jorge Molina next season in a new-look attack.
The striker has a reported €2m release clause at the Blanquivioletas but due to his contract expiring this summer, he could move on a free transfer.
Mata, formerly of Girona, reportedly rejected the opportunity to join Chinese club Zhejiang Greentown earlier this year.
