Three clubs ‘in race to sign Gareth Bale’

Manchester United, Tottenham Hotspur and Bayern Munich are the three options for Real Madrid’s Gareth Bale this summer, say reports.

Diario AS has cited their own sources and reports from the British press to collate information regarding the possible future of the Welshman.

Immediately after starring as a substitute in the Champions League final on Saturday, the 28-year-old told BT Sport: “I need to be playing week in, week out,” and that he would “have to sit down with my agent.”

United are reportedly willing to stump up a €140m fee for Bale and offer him a sizable wage increase, but their January signing of Alexis Sanchez has muddied the waters on a potential move.

A return to Tottenham – whom Bale left to join Madrid in 2013 – has also been reported, although the North London club are more restricted in financial terms.

AS also cites the Bavarian giants Bayern, and recall how the Welsh forward stated it was ‘an honour’ to be linked to them last month ahead of the Champions League semi-final between the two.
