Ramos petition for Salah injury

Over 400,000 people have signed a petition asking for Sergio Ramos to face retrospective punishment for ‘intentionally injuring’ Mohamed Salah.

Ramos was widely accused of deliberately pulling Salah’s arm as the two vied for a 50-50 during Real Madrid’s 3-1 victory over Liverpool in the Champions League Final on Saturday.

The Egyptian forward subsequently left Kiev’s Olympic Stadium in tears with a dlslocated shoulder, which also left his participation at the World Cup in doubt.

“Sergio Ramos intentionally kept Mohamed Salah's arm under his armpit, causing dislocation of his shoulder, not only missing the rest of the game but also missing the FIFA World Cup 2018,” read the Change.org petition, launched by the aptly-named Mohamed Salah Abdel-Hakeem.

“In addition he kept acting that Liverpool players fouled him falsely, causing the referee to give Mane a yellow card he did not deserve.

“Sergio Ramos represents an awful example to future generations of football players. Instead of winning matches fairly, he uses tricks that defy the spirit of the game and fair play.

“UEFA and FIFA should take measures against Ramos and similar players, using the video recordings of matches to keep the spirit of the game.”
