Sevilla have offered Girona Coach Pablo Machin a two-year contract and are hopeful of concluding a deal next week, say reports in Spain.
The 43-year-old has been in charge at the Catalan club since 2014 and oversaw their first ever promotion to La Liga last year.
Sevilla are seeking a new Coach after interim boss Joaquin Caparros’s short-term stint ended, following on from Vincenzo Montella’s dismissal last month.
Caparros is now Director of Football at the Andalusian club with ABC de Sevilla reporting Machin is the outstanding candidate for the vacant position at the Estadio Ramon Sanchez Pizjuan.
Machin, a former right-back in his playing days, has overseen 189 matches in the dugout at the Montilivi, winning 83 times.
He has one year remaining on his current contact at Girona and the club would be entitled to €1m compensation should the move go through.
