Valencia midfielder Geoffrey Kondogbia has hinted at ‘other factors’ being the reason for his absence from the France World Cup squad, rather than form.
The 25-year-old excelled during a season-long loan deal at the Mestalla, having previously struggled at Inter, but has not been included in his national squad for this summer’s tournament in Russia.
“Football is now always fair,” Kondogbia is cited as saying by Marca.
“I’m very happy with the season we have had at Valencia, for our team and also for my own personal performance, I believe I have done my job.
“We have achieved our objectives and everyone is happy, the idea is to replicate and build on this form for next season.
“However, to get a call-up (for France) there are other factors…”
