A former UEFA employee has claimed that the organisation would prefer Liverpool to beat Real Madrid in the Champions League Final.
Thomas Grimm, the President of the Ukrainian Premier League who worked in UEFA’s legal department, made his controversial remarks about the upcoming final to Ukrainian newspaper Segodnya.
“UEFA would prefer a new winner as it would kill the competition if the same team won three years in a row.
“Madrid possess some fabulous players but from a competitive point of view it’s better that another team wins,” commented Grimm, who has also been involved with FIFA and worked for the Ukrainian Football Federation.
