Salah: I’m going nowhere

Mo Salah has ruled out a summer transfer to either Barcelona or Real Madrid and reassured Liverpool fans he is staying at Anfield.

The Egyptian has been linked with a move to both the Spanish giants after scoring 43 goals in his debut season with the club, but insists he is still at the start of what he hopes will be an incredible journey with Liverpool.

Speaking at a club awards ceremony, where he picked up the Player of the Year and Players’ Player of the Year trophies, Salah told Reds’ supporters the words they have been waiting to hear.

“I’m really happy here and everything is fine. I’ve got ambitions for the future with Liverpool,” he said.

“We’ve had a great season and now we are in the Champions League final, so everyone is excited. It’s just the start. This is my first year here and it is the same for some of the other players.

“We’ve had an unbelievable season and this is just the beginning. We want to qualify for next season’s Champions League and want to win the Champions League final this year. We will be playing to win against Madrid.

“I’m very happy to receive these awards. I had a good season but without the help of my teammates it would have been very difficult.

“We all try to help each other, all try to give more, and to push each other,” he explained.
