Atletico Madrid goalkeeper Jan Oblak has dedicated the Europa League semi-final victory over Arsenal to the club’s fans: “They make it so much easier.”
The Slovenian shot-stopper helped Atleti to a 12th consecutive clean sheet at the Wanda Metropolitano as they advanced to this month’s final against Marseille.
“It is much easier to win games when you have fans like ours,” Oblak is cited as saying by Marca after the match.
“They are our eleventh player and they propel us over the line, they deserve to enjoy this victory with us and they will be there for the final.
“Every title is important and we have been prioritising this tournament since the moment we entered it but European success is always very difficult.
“We have shown in the past we have the ability and mentality to win trophies, but this is not easy, even if we have made it look so.
“We have deserved to reach this final and now we want to take the final step to a trophy.”
