Former Bayern Munich defender Bixente Lizarazu insists the German club have a ‘mental block’ in matches against Real Madrid.
Los Blancos have won six consecutive matches against the Bavarian club including three out of three under Coach Zinedine Zidane, who also beat Bayern in both legs of last season’s Champions League quarter-final.
“When you analyse the results, there must be a mental block,” Lizarazu told El Pais.
“To play away at Madrid and get a result you must play like a tiger, not like a cat and you cannot allowed to be scared, they must end this run.
“Comebacks are possible of course and that has been seen regularly in the Champions League this season – Roma against Barca, Juve against Madrid…if Juve were dead and scored three times, Bayern are not out.
“We must take our chances and learn from the mistakes in the first leg but Madrid must also have an off day.”
