Atletico Madrid will not renew or extend the contract of Jan Oblak, whose contract contains a €100m release clause, say reports in Spain.
The Slovenian shot-stopper’s current deal at Los Rojiblancos runs through until June 2021 and has been linked with a move to Paris Saint-Germain.
Cadena Cope report on Tuesday that Atleti are not considering talks to extend the contract of the former Benfica goalkeeper, while they believe nobody will pay his release clause to trigger an exit.
“Atletico will continue to grow in the next few years, whether or not I remain at the club,” Oblak told an interview with Cadena Cope last week.
Oblak joined Atleti from Benfica in 2014 and has excelled for the club since, conceding just four goals in 17 home league games this season.
