Nolito insists Sevilla can defeat Barcelona in Saturday’s Copa del Rey final and the side can handle ‘difficult matches’.
The Andalusian club are underdogs against the Catalan giants for the showpiece, although Vincenzo Montella’s side led Barca with three minutes remaining in a recent league match, which ended 2-2.
“Barcelona are favourites but in the end this is one game and we believe we can beat anyone,” Nolito told Diario Sport.
“We are one match away from a trophy, from winning the Copa del Rey and this has the double benefit (it qualifies the club automatically for Europe).
“Of course this will be a difficult match but we believe we have a plan to win the match and these are moments as footballers that you must always cherish.
“It is difficult to play against Barcelona but it is also difficult to play against Leganes, these are different challenges and we know we can rise to the occasion.
“I’ve never had the opportunity to play in any final but I know the atmosphere will be fantastic but my participation is up to the Coach.
“Could I have joined Barca? They were interested in me for a while but in the end I joined Manchester City, as that was our best option at the time.
“I’m very happy at Sevilla, I have signed for three years and want to complete that.”
