Zidane: Robbery talk disgusts me

A furious Zinedine Zidane was ‘disgusted’ by talk of a Real Madrid ‘robbery’ against Juventus as he argued ‘we deserved to go through no doubt’.

At an explosive Press conference for Madrid’s Liga trip to Malaga on Sunday, Zidane also insisted there were ‘antimadridistas’ who were ‘jealous’ of Los Blancos’ success.

It comes after the club were accused of favouritism, having knocked Juve out of the Champions League with a last-gasp penalty, which provoked Gianluigi Buffon into dissent and a controversial red card.

“When people talk about robbery, it disgusts me,” began the Coach.

“What we’re doing bothers a lot of people. It’s a shame they talk about us stealing, it makes me angry. I’m very disappointed.

“It’s not about the penalty, which is the referee’s interpretation, but after what they say about robberies and other things, I can’t believe what’s been said.

“We deserved to go through no doubt and I’ll defend my own. It’s normal for people to give their opinions, but to say it’s a robbery…

“I’m disgusted when people say it was a robbery. There are ‘antimadridistas’ and we can’t change that.

“No-one’s going to change the history of this club, which is the best in the world. It’s normal they’re jealous.

“Bayern? The only advantage is that we’ll play the return leg at the Santiago Bernabeu.

“They’re very good and as a club they compete very well, so they’ll make it very difficult for us.

“They’re a very solid team, who don’t concede many goals. They play very good football and are on a good run.

“They’re always in the big clashes. I don’t like to talk about revenge, I prefer to talk about the present.”
