Atletico Madrid goalkeeper Jan Oblak is ‘the best in the world’ according to his teammate Saul Niguez, following their Europa League progression.
The Slovenian shot-stopper excelled in Atleti’s 1-0 loss in Lisbon at Sporting CP as Diego Simeone’s side advanced to the semi-finals of the competition.
“Jan is the best goalkeeper in the world,” Saul told reporters, as cited by Diario AS.
“He always keeps improving and he is always helping us, the better he gets the less work the rest of the team needs to do.
“We expected a very complicated game and that was exactly what happened, but we know we could have played much better ourselves.
“We knew they would attack with many men and with lots of qualities but we missed chances of our to complete the game with a little more tranquillity.”
