Former Paraguay goalkeeper Jose Luis Chilavert has blamed ‘the football mafia’ for Real Madrid progressing past Juventus in the Champions League.
Now 52, the former Real Zaragoza shot-stopper tweeted his displeasure at the finale of Juve’s 3-1 victory at Madrid on Wednesday night after Cristiano Ronaldo’s late penalty.
“The football mafia have ensured that Juventus did not qualify,” Chilavert wrote on his Twitter account.
Madrid progressed to the semi-finals of Europe’s premier club competition, where they join Bayern Munich, Liverpool and Roma.
