Madrid ‘offered Pogba in January’

Manchester United midfielder Paul Pogba was ‘offered’ to Real Madrid in the January transfer window by his agent, according to reports.

The French international’s relationship with United boss Jose Mourinho has reportedly become fractured in recent months, with the £89m-signing’s future at the club thrown into doubt.

El Mundo Deportivo cite a report in Sports Illustrated that claims Mino Raiola – the player’s agent – offered the midfielder to the European champions in January.

Madrid are said to have refused the offer due to budgetary restraints and his position not being viewed as a priority for strengthening the squad.

Such claims may prove to be unfounded as Los Blancos do not have any clients of Raiola on their books, with Spanish press previously citing their refusal to strike business with him.

On Friday, Manchester City boss Pep Guardiola insisted his side had also been offered the midfielder by the agent in January.
