Juventus goalkeeper Gianluigi Buffon has praised his Real Madrid counterpart Keylor Navas for his ‘psychological strength’.
The experienced Bianconeri shot-stopper was quizzed about the Costa Rican goalkeeper, who has established himself as Madrid’s number one since his arrival from Levante in 2014.
“He has shown a lot of psychological strength,” Buffon told reporters before the two met in Wednesday’s Champions League quarter-final second leg.
“To be first choice at a club of that stature for a period of time is not easy, he has lots of tough competition and it is clear how much confidence his teammates place in him.”
Buffon then admitted the clash could be his last in the Champions League, but added: “As a child I would have liked the idea of playing my last Champions League game at the Bernabeu against Madrid.”
