Real Sociedad winger Sergio Canales looks set to join Real Betis this summer when his contract expires, according to reports in the Spanish press.
The 27-year-old’s contract at Estadio Anoeta expires in June and Marca report he has taken the ‘firm decision’ of leaving the Basque club this summer.
The report adds that Betis are ‘working hard’ on a deal and whilst the move has not yet been finalised, it has ‘progressed significantly in recent weeks’.
Reports suggest the player had reached an agreement with Los Verdiblancos last summer but a transfer agreement could not be reached between the clubs.
Formerly of Real Madrid and Valencia, Canales has netted two goals and made five assists in a strong spell of form while he has also received offers from France and Turkish giants Galatasaray.
Reports suggest Betis have also tied up deals for out-of-contract pair Espanyol goalkeeper Pau Lopez along with Eibar midfielder Takashi Inui.
