Thiago Alcantara has warned his Bayern Munich teammates that Sevilla will ‘up their game’ for the two’s Champions League quarter final.
The German champions are strong favourites to progress to the last four of the competition against the Andalucian side, who are at this stage for the first time since 1958.
“They will up their game for a big Champions League match, that is natural,” Thiago told an interview with Marca ahead of the tie.
“This is true for every city but particularly of Sevilla, where they are so passionate. The bars will make their best sandwiches, their best coffees…and the player’s kits and boots will be in better condition.
“They know how to put in big performances on Champions League nights, they rise to the occasion and they are proving why they are one of Europe’s great clubs.”
