Ramos hails ‘scary’ Ronaldo

Sergio Ramos hailed Real Madrid teammate Cristiano Ronaldo for his ‘scary’ run of form after his brace against Juventus.

Ronaldo’s third-minute finish and overhead-kick ‘golazo’ handed Madrid control of their quarter-final with Juve, drawing praise from Ramos, who also warned the tie ‘isn’t over yet’.

“Given the result, maybe it’s for the best that I’ll miss the second leg. It’s not that bad!” the defender said after the game.

“I think it’s the first time that I’ve been shown a yellow for being fouled. The tie? It’s not over yet.

“We could’ve extended our lead, but we weren’t able to. Now we have to finish [the tie] off.

“Ronaldo’s overhead kick? It was a ‘golazo’. He’s also won the prize of fans recognising that he’s played at this level for so many years.

“He’s in a scary run of form. I hope he can see out the season like this. The result? Impeccable, very good.

“Everything went perfectly, but now we must finish the job at home.”
