Madrid prioritise Roma’s Alisson – report

Real Madrid have shifted their focus onto a new goalkeeper with Roma’s Alisson Bekker topping the list, say reports in Spain.

The Spanish and European champions believe the Brazilian shot-stopper has the ability to establish himself as a number one at the Bernabeu and is a more affordable alternative to David Dea and Thibaut Courtois.

Madrid’s president Florentino Perez has been one of a number of club officials who have been tracking the progress of the Roma goalkeeper, who has excelled this season, according to a report in El Mundo Deportivo.

The 25-year-old signed for the Rome-based club for a €7.5m deal in the summer of 2016 and would make a significant profit on a future sale.

Alisson is one of a number of players being targeted by Madrid to overhaul their playing squad this summer after a disappointing domestic campaign.

The goalkeeper’s contract runs to 2021 and is said to be priced at a minimum of €50m.
