Sevilla president Jose Castro has revelled in a ‘magic and historical night’ for the club following their defeat of Manchester United.
The Andalucian club triumphed 2-1 at Old Trafford and qualified for the last eight of the European Cup for the first time since 1958.
“This is a magic and historical night for us, for the team, for the club,” Castro told reporters after the game, as cited by Marca.
“It has been 6 years since we last reached this next stage of the competition and we have done so because we kept dreaming.
“We saw all the talk of making the impossible possible and we believed in ourselves, the team did not doubt themselves nor the Coach.
“We were able to defeat a team full of stars, of very expensive players who can play flashy football but we won with team-work.
“We are extremely happy, Sevilla are making history and the fans are enjoying it.”
