Wissam Ben Yedder says Sevilla ‘showed we’re a great team’ after his goals knocked Manchester United out of the Champions League.
Ben Yedder and Sevilla made history on Tuesday as his second-halfbrace defeated United 2-1, ending the Andalusians 60-year wait for progression to the quarter-finals.
“It was a very important match, I gave it my all to score because we needed to,” the super-sub said after the game.
“We’re very happy, it’s the first time that we’ve reached the quarter-finals. The key is that we all stuck together. We’ve overcome a truly great team.
“We knew our opponents had a lot of experience in the Champions League and that the match would be very tactical, but the goal liberated us. We showed we’re a great team.”
