Castro urges Sevilla ‘to make history’

Sevilla president Jose Castro has urged his side ‘to make history’ ahead of their Champions League clash at Manchester United.

The Andalucian club have never advanced beyond the last 16 of the competition but stand a chance after a goalless first leg in Seville last month.

“Old Trafford is a famous stadium and we will hopefully enjoy a famous night,” Castro told reporters at Sevilla airport, as cited by Estadio Deportivo.

“We have never reached the next stage of the Champions League and this is an important step in our history, we want to put that right.

“We are now at a stage when we are competing against sides with several times our budget but we must fight to give ourselves a chance to make history.

“Our recent results have not reflected our performances, we are creating lots of chances but not finishing and we expect the results to come soon.”
