Philippe Coutinho believes his understanding with his Barcelona teammates is “improving with each game” after Saturday’s 6-1 thrashing of Girona.
Coutinho linked up with Lionel Messi, Luis Suarez and Ousmane Dembele all game, even finding the back of the net with a long-range effort.
“It was an important match and we had to win so we’d keep picking up points,” the former Liverpool attacker told Movistar Partidazo after the match.
“We deserved to win and we leave here very happy for this reason. Messi? Leo’s a great guy.
“He deceived everyone with his goal [the free kick below the wall]. It’s incredible how good he is.
“Our understanding is improving with each game, as well as with Suarez. He’s very important for us.
“I’m learning gradually and I have to keep working hard.”
