Real Sociedad exited the Europa League after suffering a 4-3 aggregate to Austrian side Red Bull Salzburg in the last 32.
The Basque side entered the second leg at a disadvantage after the first leg 2-2 draw at the Anoeta and the Austrians extended their advantage in the 10th minute in Austria with a Moanes Dabour strike.
However, just before the half hour mark Raul Navas levelled proceedings on the night but the defender was later sent-off with 20 minutes remaining.
Valon Berisha’s spot kick with 16 minutes remaining gave Salzburg victory on the night and they advance to the last 16 of the competition at Eusebio Sacristan’s side expense.
