Dani Carvajal admits “there’s no magic formula to stop Neymar” as Real Madrid “just have to hope he has an off-day.”
Madrid kick off their Champions League last-16 tie with Paris Saint-Germain on Wednesday, but one of Achraf Hakimi and Nacho Fernandez will be entrusted with keeping Neymar in check as Carvajal is suspended.
“I don’t know who out of the two will play, but they’re both prepared,” he told AS.
“There’s no magic formula to stop Neymar. We just have to hope that he has an off-day.
“There are no favourites in a tie like this, it’s very even and these are two games that will be decided by small details. We’ll try not to make mistakes and be successful in their box.
“Criticism? We haven’t been stung by it. We’re self-critical and we know that we haven’t had our best season.
“We can all give more of ourselves, and on Wednesday we’ll give everything on the pitch.”
