Garrido set for Forest

Out-of-contract Spanish defender Javier Garrido is close to a move to English club Nottingham Forest, according to reports.

The full-back has been without a club since leaving AEK Lanarca at the end of last season while Forest are seeking a left-sided defender since Armand Traore’s departure last month.

Garrido, 32, started his career at Real Sociedad – where he made just shy of 100 appearances – before joining Manchester City in 2007.

The left-back then went on to play for Lazio and Norwich City, before a stint with Las Palmas and then joining Cypriot club AEK in 2016.
