Marca: Madrid to launch €300m splurge

Real Madrid will seek to land a series of star arrivals this year and have €300m to spend on transfers, according to reports in Spain.

The Spanish and European champions sit 19 points off league leaders Barcelona and were eliminated by Leganes in the quarter finals of the Copa del Rey this week.

Now Marca state Los Blancos are ready to act and make massive strides to strengthen their squad this calendar year.

The report cites recent exits of Alvaro Morata, James Rodriguez and Pepe that have freed up funds, alongside historic money-spinning sales of Angel Di Maria and Mesut Ozil.

These exits, along with a vast increase in commercial deals and revenue streams, has put the club in a position to add several star talents this year.

Paris Saint-Germain forward Neymar has been heavily linked with a future move to Madrid while Eden Hazard, Harry Kane, David De Gea and Mauro Icardi have all been linked to the Bernabeu.
