Diego Maradona has slammed former club Sevilla for replacing Eduardo Berizzo with Vincenzo Montella. “There are thousands of Coaches who could do the job.”
Berizzo was sacked just two days before Christmas, despite undergoing cancer treatment towards the end of his tenure, while Montella succeeded the Argentine, barely a month after he was dismissed by Milan.
“It is madness that Montella should take Berizzo’s place,” wrote the legendary No 10, who also played for Barcelona, on Instagram.
“Especially when Montella was kicked out for doing so badly at Milan. There are thousands of Coaches who could do the job.
“THE BUSINESSMEN CANNOT CONTROL FOOTBALL (Berizzo must be supported). Or at least put in an alternative. This has to change.”
