Roma have joined Serie A rivals Inter in the chase for Barcelona’s out-of-favour forward Gerard Deulofeu, according to reports in Spain.
The 23-year-old spent the second half of last season on loan in Serie A with Inter’s city rivals Milan after not being involved in Everton’s first-team action, before returning to the Camp Nou in summer in a €12m deal.
The Spain international has started only six La Liga games this season for the Blaugrana, scoring once, and can play on either side of an attacking three.
A report in Diario Sport now outlines how Roma’s sporting director Monchi – who was sporting director at Sevilla when the forward played for Los Rojiblancos – wants to bring him to the club.
Inter ‘are still in a better position’ for Deulofeu to the more advanced nature of their interest, but a January exit looks increasingly inevitable.
Both clubs are also said to be interested in Barca’s full-back Aleix Vidal.
