Villarreal striker Cedric Bakambu has confirmed he is leaving the club this month to move to the Chinese Super League.
The Congolese striker, who has netted 14 goals this campaign, is set to join Chinese club Beijing Guoan in a €40m deal.
“I've already said goodbye to my teammates,” Bakambu told Diario AS.
“I'm hoping that everything will definitely be resolved between the two clubs as that is all that is left before the move is processed.
“Things change very fast in footbal, but I've had this offer for a long time and I did not want to say anything to anyone.
“I'm happy but at the same time I am also sad…a little bit of both, but, this is the life of a player and these moves and opportunities come up.
“I know this is an opportunity that will change my life but it is not easy to make a decision, I have talked a lot with my family and in the end we made this decision, which I think is the best.”
