Schalke have denied reports midfielder Leon Goretzka – a target for Barcelona and Real Madrid – has agreed a deal with Bayern Munich.
The Bundesliga club’s sporting director Christian Heidel has rejected reports in Sport Bild that the German international has agreed a move to the Bavarian club.
“Leon has not told us so anything about the reports he has decided to leave the club,” Heidel told Sport 1.
“I and the club trust Leon and his representative, we have been in regular contact.”
Bayern Munich have been heavily linked with signing the 22-year-old on a free transfer at the end of the season when his contract in Gelsenkirchen expires.
However, Madrid and more prominently Barcelona have been linked to Goretzka, although reports in the Catalan media suggest the Blaugrana suspect he has agreed a move to the Allianz Arena.
