Former Atletico Madrid striker Diego Forlan hopes city rivals Real Madrid defeat Barcelona on Saturday for Atleti’s title chances.
Los Rojiblancos currently lie six points behind the Catalan giants in the standings but a win over Espanyol on Friday night coupled with Zinedine Zidane’s side winning El Clasico would cut the deficit to just three points.
“Hopefully Real Madrid win El Clasico as this would help Atletico move closer to the top of the table,” Forlan told Cadena Cope.
“My intention is to someday return to Atletico with a future project; that would be a dream for me.
“Griezmann’s future? No Atleti fan wants him to leave, and I am no different!”
