Real Madrid defender Marcelo believes the club should be constantly trying to sign the best players in the world.
The Brazilian international was responding to a question about the European champions potentially making signings in January, having been linked to Athletic Bilbao goalkeeper Kepa Arrizabalaga.
“Real Madrid should always have the best players and any top player will always be welcome,” Marcelo told a press conference on Tuesday.
“Our squad right now is good, with a strong blend of experienced and younger players but of course you will always look to strengthen.”
Marcelo then went on to talk about the Club World Cup semi final against Al Jazira on Wednesday.
“I know Romarinho, my fellow Brazilian, who plays for them and he is a great player, but not much else,” he added.
“Our experience in this competition does not mean anything but we are highly motivated for this game and will give everything to win.”
