Ramos: Madrid motivated for CWC

Real Madrid captain Sergio Ramos insists his side are excited to be participating in the Club World Cup as it offers the opportunity of another trophy.

Zinedine Zidane’s side qualified for the tournament courtesy of June’s Champions League title triumph and are now aiming to successfully defend the trophy which they have won a record five times.

“We were excited to arrive here and are looking forward to the opportunity of defending this title,” Ramos told Real Madrid’s official website.

“To be in this competition is a reward for trophies but now all we are focused on is winning our sixth Club World Cup title.

“There is a lot of enthusiasm and desire in this squad to win yet another trophy for our fans; it’s an opportunity that excites us.

“We played a great game against Sevilla and right now we feel really good and motivated, now we want to maintain that balance and consistency.”
